MARK FOWLER

Wildlife Conservation Specialist, Terra Conservation Initiative | Explore Ambassador

Mr. Fowler is a Thrive Ambassador focused on Terra Global Solutions’ Global Conservation Initiative. The son of well-known wildlife expert Jim Fowler, host of “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom”, Mr. Fowler grew up traveling the world, each time returning home with once-in- a-lifetime stories. Inspired by remarkable encounters with exotic wildlife — whether it was the elephants that stormed their tent camp in Zimbabwe on a mission to steal their lemonade or spending weeks with a black rhino and the rhino’s unlikely best friend, a warthog, both orphaned in the wild—from Africa to Siberia, Polynesia to the Amazon, these experiences continue to ignite a deep rooted dedication towards the natural world and for indigenous cultures around it.

But today, with the reality that many of the incredible wild animals, wild places, and unique cultures he has encountered over a lifetime of exploration and travel are under threat, Mr. Fowler has coupled his passion for storytelling, adventure, and conservation into the role of spokesperson, executive producer, and television personality with the goal of spreading positive messaging about how we all can help our planet.

In 2000, he produced and co-hosted the syndicated 22- episode television series “Life in the Wild” with his father and sister, for which they were Emmy nominated. In 2002, he launched a production company, Wild Life Productions, and since then has continued to work in the film and television industry as an on-camera host and executive producer for a wide-variety of non-fiction programs for Nat Geo Channel, Discovery Networks, and Travel Channel, as well as for commercial clients, foundations, non-profits, and government agencies such as NOAA and NASA, and the Smithsonian Institution.

Mr. Fowler is an elected member of the Board of Directors of The Explorers Club where he serves as Chair of the Wildlife Committee. He also presents exotic wildlife for NBC’s Today Show, the Fox News Channel’s “Fox and Friends” and lectures for organizations such as The Adventurers Club, The Explorers Club, the California Wreck Divers Association, and various universities, among others. He is dedicated to being a spokesperson for wildlife and the natural world, and most recently, Mr. Fowler was named the “Nature and Wildlife Ambassador” for the Grace Farms Foundation in New Canaan, CT where he is designing nature and conservation initiatives for the think tank.

Ultimately, Mr. Fowler’s goal is to carry on the Fowler family legacy by continuing to educate about the natural world in the 21st century, to promote and support worldwide conservation efforts in the hope that the threatened species, places, and cultures of his childhood memories don’t disappear.
